EKITI: Declare your assets or face tribunal – Code of Conduct Bureau to Fayemi, others

The Director, Code of Conduct Bureau, Ekiti State, Mr. Akinfolarin Feyisola, has directed Governor Kayode Fayemi and other political office holders in Ekiti state to declare their “end of tenure assets” unfailingly before the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent governor.

Feyisola gave the directive on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti. He added that it was mandatory for every political office holder in all parts of the country to declare their assets when coming and leaving office.

He said defaulters would be dragged before the Code of Conduct Tribunal for going against the law, according to reports by News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)

He said some of the officers had started collecting the assets declaration forms after receiving the reminder of the constitutional provision.

The director, however, said the current closure of all courts in the state was a challenge for those who had filled their forms but have nowhere to swear affidavit or do other court processes.

Feyisola advised those who are yet to collect or complete their assets forms to do so immediately, while awaiting the re-opening of the courts.
