Another bomb blast has occurred in Azare, headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
According to reports, the bomb explosion occurred at about 5:45pm on Sunday at the popular GSM market called Kasuwar Waya in Azare.
It would be recalled that a little over a week ago, a suicide bomber
blew himself up at the First Bank branch in this same Azare town, killing 14 other people and injuring 23 others.
The number of casualty in today’s explosion is yet to be known but the casualty is expected to be high as today is the market day for the GSM market in Azare, and reports say people were crowded in the market at the time of the explosion.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state Police command DSP Haruna Mohammed confirmed the explosion.
He said, “Yes, there was an explosion in Azare town but it is too early to ascertain number of casualties.”
