Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Hilltop mansion in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital has become a Mecca of some sort as the leading candidates in the upcoming presidential elections make it a duty to pay him a visit.
Yesterday it was President Goodluck Jonathan meeting with Obasanjo behind closed doors and today it is the turn of the All Progress Congress (APC) candidate, Muhammadu Buhari to pay homage.
Accompanying the APC candidate was his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and several other party leaders including, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, John Oyegun, Sen. Bukola Saraki, Gov. Ibikunle Amosun and a host of others.
Obasanjo, who appeared to be happy to see the APC delegation who were in his town to rally support for their party, welcomed his guests and wished Gen. Buhari luck in the elections next month.
“I’m a card-carrying member of another party but what is paramount is Nigeria so I wish you the best,” Obasanjo said.
